Dear fellow users,

I am trying to set up Specify 6.8.0.1 on a stand alone workstation and I am stuck at the wizard ‘configuring a database’ step. Pressing the ‘Create Specify Database’ button yields an error: “The wizard was unable to log in to the DBMS”

I have MySQL server installed and set up users with root privileges and a database. Not sure what to do at this point.
Any help is appreciated.

Are you using a Mac computer? You must install MariaDB 10.6.5 instead of MySQL 5.7 for Specify to work on Mac. Otherwise, it seems you may have the root login incorrect.
